Job Purpose

The post-holder will provide support to the Finance Manager by effectively and efficiently managing a variety of accounting aspects within the finance department. He/she will be an active member of the finance management team and will manage and provide leadership to the various sub departments within the Finance Department.

The post-holder will play an active role in the support and further development of new and existing business systems.

 

There is currently 1 specified purpose, whole-time vacancy.

 

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Grade VII Finance Manager, (Grád VII), Connolly Hospital from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

 

The salary scale for the post is: (01/02/2026)

€60,613 €62,094 €63,824 €65,560 €67,302 €68,858 €70,442 €71,985 €73,516 €76,151 €78,795 LSIs

Essential Criteria

This campaign is confined to staff who are currently employed by the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies*, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 as per Workplace Relations Commission agreement -161867

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

 

  1. Have satisfactory experience in an office under the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004 at a level not lower than that of Grade IV (or equivalent)

 

and

 

  1. Have not less than two years satisfactory experience either in that office or in an office at a level not lower than that of Clerical Officer in the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004

 

and

 

  1. Membership or working towards membership of a recognised or prescribed accountancy body such as ACCA, CPA, ACMA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent

 

and

 

Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office.

 

Health

 A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

 

Post specific requirements


• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience of Finance & budgeting systems in a large organisation.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in dealing with large volumes of complex data in a large organisation and working independently.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge of HSE Financial Regulations.
• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite including Access.


Other requirements specific to the post

 

• A working knowledge of IT systems such as IFMS or SAP
