Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is an Acute General Hospital which incorporates a Maternity Unit. The Hospital provides maternity services to the catchment area of Counties Louth, Meath and North Dublin.
The Maternity Unit is the largest Maternity Unit in the Region with approximately 2700 births per year. The Unit incorporates a 50 bed Obstetric Unit, a Midwifery Led Unit and a Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Postnatal hubs are community-based, midwifery-led clinics providing support for mothers and babies within the first six weeks after birth, with specialized care available up to six months. They offer local, non-urgent care, including check-ups, feeding support, physiotherapy, and group education, reducing the need for hospital visits.
The Neonatal Unit is a level 2 unit with 16 cots (5 ICU/HDU) We are part of the neo-natal network within the region incorporating the Rotunda Hospital Dublin and Cavan General Hospital.
The HSE has created six new health regions. Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area. Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.
HSE Dublin and North East provides health and social care to North Dublin, Louth, Meath,
Monaghan and most areas of Cavan.

Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
1.(a) Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
And
And
(iii) Have a minimum of 5 years’ post registration fulltime experience or an aggregate of 5 years’ fulltime experience.
And
(iv) Have a minimum of 2 years’ fulltime experience or an aggregate of 2 years’ fulltime experience in specialist area of Infant Feeding/Lactation
And
Alternatively provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 9 or higher standard (60 ECTS or above), relevant to the specialist area of Midwifery and in line with the requirements for specialist practice as set out by the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery 4th ed (2008). care prior to application*

(vi) Be required to demonstrate that they have continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area or will be supported to obtain the required CPD
(b) Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice.
(i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the appropriate/relevant Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) for the role.

(ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Service User Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Possess an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) qualification, or agree to complete within two years of taking up post. Demonstration of recertification on a five yearly basis or as identified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners as applicable.
Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in the specialist area of infant feeding/lactation as relevant to the role
Post holder(s) must have access to appropriate transport as post will involve travel
