You can refer yourself to most Community Healthcare Services or through your GP, public health nurse, community mental health team, etc. Services include - Primary Care, Social Care - Older Persons, Social Care – Disabilities, Mental Health, Health and Wellbeing, Quality, Safety and Service Improvement.

The Day Services Unit at the Louth County Hospital includes provision of venesections for patients with haemochromatosis and iron overload. It is a nurse delivered service with consultant clinical governance for the patient. The CNM1 proactively incorporates a process for referrals, planning, delivery and evaluation of care of patients requiring this medical treatment.

Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwifes maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann)
Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Age restrictions shall only apply to a candidate where he/she is not classified as a new entrant (within the meaning of the Public Service Superannuation Act, 2004). A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occurs.
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
