Alcohol specialist services in acute hospitals provide integrated alcohol and drug comprehensive assessment and management across primary, secondary, and social care. Alcohol Specialist services are set up to improve service user outcomes and alleviate the impact of substance use on secondary care.
Each candidate must, at the latest date for receipt of completed applications for the post:
Be registered in the General Division or Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses &
Midwives maintained by Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered
And
Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 years must be in the speciality or related area that cares for patients with Alcohol Addiction related issues
And
Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
And
Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level
