The Respiratory Physiologist will be responsible for the provision of high quality sleep diagnostic tests and lung function procedures
The Respiratory and Sleep diagnostics department is committed to providing a professional, flexible and quality assured service, delivering reports of the highest standard. Our objectives are to:
• Measure the effect of disease on lung function
• Follow the course of any disease affecting lung function
• Assess pre-operative surgical risk
• Provide clinicians with reports of the highest quality
• Provide a diagnostic sleep service as per local policy
• To engage in modernisation and implement change according to best international practice.

1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology
OR
(ii) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin)
OR
(ii) Possess the MSc in Clinical Physiology from Atlantic Technological University Sligo (ATU Sligo)
OR
(iii) Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP) or confirmed by HSE Recognition of qualification process
OR
(iv) Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology
2. Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
3. Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
