Job Purpose

Connolly Hospital is seeking applicants for a Basic Grade Radiographer to work in the general radiography department in Connolly Hospital and the Swords Surgical Hub, on a rotational basis.

 

The salary scale for the post is: (01/02/2026)

€44,511 €46,802 €48,770 €50,030 €51,318 €52,641 €53,952 €55,287 €56,697 €58,086 €59,431 €60,812 €62,246 €63,599 LSI

 

There is currently a permanent, whole-time vacancy available.

 

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Radiographer, Connolly Hospital and Swords Surgical Hub from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Essential Criteria

  1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

     

    2026 Graduates are also eligible to apply for this campaign

     

    (a) Candidates for appointment must:

     

    (i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU. (https://www.coru.ie/

     

                                           AND

     

    (ii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

     

                                           AND

     

    (iii) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.

     

    Annual registration

     

    (i) On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the relevant division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.

     

                                            AND

     

    (ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

     

  2. Health 
    A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
  3. Character

    Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

     

    Post Specific Requirments
  • Depth and breadth of recent experience working in general x-ray including experience of performing portable x-rays as a radiographer
  • Depth and breadth of experience of working in a theatre setting, using c-arms to provide high-quality diagnostic images in theatre
  • Depth and breadth of knowledge of radiation protection associated with general, theatre and portable radiography
  • Evidence of working as part of the multidisciplinary team in theatre setting

 

        Other requirements specific to the post :

  • The role will require participation on a rota that provides cover to Connolly Hospital and the Swords Surgical Hub
  • Must participate in on-call rota
  • Have access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role
