There is currently 2 permanent whole-time vacancy available in Dublin & North East.

 

Post 1: IHA Louth Meath & Cavan Monaghan

Post 2: Dublin City West and Dublin North

 

The base for this post will be agreed on appointment.

 

The DON for immunisation will:

Establish a regional immunisation service for the which will be split into 2 structures:

  • IHA Louth Meath/ Cavan Monaghan
  • Dublin North City & West/ Dublin North

 This service will provide an integrated immunisation service, with a permanent, competent and sustainable vaccinator workforce, within a clear operational and clinical governance structure. This is to ensure that the HSE has the capacity to undertake the full spectrum of immunisations required in any given year, as well as flex up to provide any new immunisations required by Public Health to address new variants or diseases, outbreaks, or evolving situations (such as displaced populations). 

Essential Criteria

Candidates must have at the latest date of application

Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. (See Note 1*).

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

  • Are registered, or are eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).

And

  • Have 10 years post registration nursing experience consisting of 5 years nursing management experience at a minimum of clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2).

And

  • Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider, which verifies that the applicant has achieved a National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 8 or higher award maintained by Quality & Qualifications of Ireland (QQI) or can provide written evidence from the Higher Education Institute that they have achieved the number of ECTS credits equivalent to a Level 8 or higher in a health care or management related area.

 

Applicants must possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

 

Annual registration

Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).

And

Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

 

Health

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
